MEC’s WORKING SESSION WITH OFFICIALS RESPONSIBLE FOR CURRICULUM DELIVERY
MEC for Department of Education and Sport Development met with Chief Director for district co-ordination, District Directors, Education Specialists, Area Managers, Circuit Managers and Subjects Advisors for Curriculum delivery on the 30th of May.
The meeting focused on maximising the support given to underperforming schools. The co-ordinators are the custodians for service delivery. Good theory makes good practice, when we measure we can manage because we will know where to improve and intervene, said Dr Mvula. All the managers and Education Specialists, Area Managers, Circuit Managers and Subjects Advisors should work together to reach for one goal.
MEC Jonas Sello Lehari in his key note address he said in order for the department to obtain the highest pass rate of 86% and above, Subject advisors should perform their role and responsibility by providing support to the school’s principal and teachers. The following resolutions were taken by MEC in his meeting: all schools should continue with extra classes, all subjects including Setswana should be given attention, everyone should perform his/her task diligently, circuit managers should focus on their daily programme and analysis of results should be announced every term from grade 1 to grade 12.
