Ngaka Modiri Molema ready for provincial district NTA
Ngaka Modiri Molema district held its leg of the 17th district National Teaching Awards (NTA) at Mafikeng, Gaabomotho as a means of recognising and celebrating excellence in education. The ceremony was to honour teachers and highlight the importance of education in our society as reflected in the theme of the day “Teachers as Leaders for Inclusion “.
The event amongst others was graced by Mafikeng local municipality mayor Cllr Betty Diakanyo , Ms Motsage from GEMS, representatives from labour Unions, previous winners and the sponsor Old Mutual. Speaking on behalf of previous winners, Ms Naude from R. B Dithupe Primary school told those who are in the race to believe in themselves and must value all the prices they are going to receive. Mr D. Katlhaodi, Old Mutual area manager was very humbled to be invited and sponsor NTA as our children deserves the best teachers .
The awards categories ranged from Excellence in primary school teaching, secondary school teaching , primary school leadership ,secondary school leadership ,Grade R teaching ,special needs and inclusive teaching ,technology enhanced teaching and learning ,teaching mathematics (GET),teaching natural sciences (GET) and The Nelson Mandela Life Time achievement award . Ms Mosipidi ,Ms Van Der Walt and Mr Matlhoko walked away with the Nelson Mandela lifetime achievement awards .
The district director Mr Benny Monale, on his closing remarks congratulated those who walked out as winners and emphasised the importance of teachers in our society.
